GeneCard System
With GeneCard devices, the cell growth and assay are separated into two modules. Moreover, the inexpensive GeneCard substrates are disposable, but the more expensive chips can be reused. The technology lends itself to development of compact analysis instruments. GDS has developed automated drug discovery systems based on this technology.
The system enables high-throughput screening of 10,000-100,000 compounds a day in cell-based assays. The system interfaces with automation systems already in place at the pharmaceutical companies with minimal customization, including compound retrieval from 96-well or 384-well plates. The system is universally applicable to all cell-based assays, including recently developed assays that allow sub-cellular localization of proteins of interest inside the cell. The system can also be used for investigations of cells from any tissue type.
GeneCube Arrays
3D GeneCube arrays provide a level of probe density that is not even conceivable with conventional microarray fabrication technologies. The number of probes on a 3D GeneCord array is sufficient to perform a comprehensive analysis of disease associated SNPs from a sample or analysis of a subset of SNPs from multiple samples. The 3D arrays also allow a complete analysis of proteins and protein modifications in a sample.
